PROGRAM NOTES: Siren Songs is a concert series focused on the plight of our environment. By using the imagery and lore of sirens, the pieces premiered in this concert highlight the personal nature and immediacy of the current climate crisis. The piece here is the third song in the newly composed song cycle by Valencio Jackson.

PROGRAM NOTES: Based on the life of Frankenstein novelist Mary Shelley, Wildfire is a newly commissioned song cycle exploring Shelley’s troubled life and struggles. With themes about motherhood, creative impulse, and life after loss, the cycle plays on gothic themes to tell the story of the prolific author’s life.
